Stardust Promotion announced that actor Yokohama Ryūsei has tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). According to the announcement, Yokohama felt fatigued and feverish after a rehearsal for a stage production on July 20 and went to have a checkup. While his PCR test results have not yet returned, an antibody test indicated that he had COVID-19.
Following medical advice, Yokohama is currently hospitalized and undergoing treatment.
On the official website, the office said, “We apologize for all the inconvenience and worries to all the people involved in work, co-stars, and the fans who always support us. We are making every possible effort to recover from the symptoms. We will continue to thoroughly manage the physical condition of the person under the guidance of medical institutions and administrative agencies.”
Yokohama has performed roles in such shows as Ressha Sentai ToQger, Kamen Rider Fourze, and the live-action adaptations of LDK, Anitomo, Cheer Boys!!, and Inakunare, Gunjō.
