Shakunetsu Kabaddi sports manga gets an TV Anime Adaptation!

Hajime Musashino’s mangaShakunetsu Kabaddi’(Burning Kabaddi) is getting a television anime adaptation. The teaser visual drawn by Musashino and the first PV of the teaser have been released on the official website for the anime.

Synopsis

The manga’s story centers on first-year high school student Tatsuya Yoigoshi, a former ace soccer player who dislikes sports. He gets invited to join a team for the contact sport Kabaddi. He scoffs at the idea at first but becomes interested after watching a kabaddi practice.

Kabaddi is a contact team sport played between two teams of seven players each originated in India.

The manga debuted on Shogakukan‘s Manga ONE app and Ura Sunday website in 2015. Shogakukan released the 13th Volume in February, and the 14th will release on July 10, 2020. The series ranked on the top 20 list of manga for male readers in the 2017 edition of Takarajimasha‘s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook.

The official TV anime website and Twitter account (@kabaddi_anime) are now open. It was also revealed that it will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and others. Stay tuned for more details on broadcast times and casts.
