On Wednesday, Aug 19, Indonesian publisher M&C! announced that it has cancelled its publication and release of Tatsuya Matsuki and Shiro Usazaki‘s act-age manga, adding that the cancellation was the best step it could take as its moral responsibility, given the sensitivity of the issue.
The editors of Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine had announced last Monday that they cancelled the serialization of the manga itself. The chapter that appeared in this year’s combined 36th and 37th issue, which shipped last Tuesday, is the final chapter. Shueisha‘s MANGA Plus service announced on August 8 that it would not publish the final chapter on its platform. Hori Pro cancelled the upcoming stage play adaptation of the manga. Shueisha also ceased sales and distribution of the manga’s physical and digital volumes on Monday.
