The official website for the television anime adaptation of Gege Akutami‘s Jujutsu Kaisen manga revealed the cast members and character designs for three second-year students of the Magic Technical College:
Comment from Komatsu Mikako (role of Maki Teinin)
I think the feud between the sisters is a major obstacle that must be overcome when playing Maki. Even though I read the original, the scene was very impressive, so I am looking forward to dubbing. The strength and violence that she can see. I hope that the circumstances behind it will be played carefully.
Comment from Uchiyama Koki
Since I will not be participating in the recording yet, I will read the original exactly and listen to the opinions of the staff and perform. I will do my best to make the anime more attractive than the original fan’s expectations and to attract those who do not know this work yet.
Comment from Seki Tomokazu
Although it looks like a panda, it has a common sense of humanity. While valuing the gap, I would like to perform with a little personality. I’m looking forward to acting in a word.
The previously announced cast members include:
- Junya Enoki as Yūji Itadori
- Yūma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro
- Asami Seto as Nobara Kugisaki
- Yūichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojō
- Junichi Suwabe as Sukuna Ryōmen
Sunghoo Park (The God of High School) is directing the anime at MAPPA. Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: Lost Girls, Banana Fish, Vinland Saga) is writing and supervising the scripts. Tadashi Hiramatsu (His and Her Circumstances, Yuri!!! on Ice, Parasyte -the maxim-) is designing the characters. Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Yoshimasa Terui, and Arisa Okehazama are composing the music.
The anime will premiere in the “Super Animeism” block on MBS, TBS and their affiliates in October, and will air on Fridays at 25:25 (effectively, Saturdays at 1:25 a.m.)
Akutami launched the manga in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. Shueisha published the manga’s 11th volume on June 4.
