Hong Kong content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited‘s Ani-One YouTube channel announced that it will stream the television anime of Kenta Shinohara‘s Astra Lost in Space (Kanata no Astra) manga on September 1 at 4:30 p.m. IST. The company also streamed a trailer for the anime on its Facebook page.
Alongside Hong Kong and India, Ani-One will stream the anime in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Macau, and Taiwan.
The anime premiered in Japan in July 2019.
Masaomi Andō (White Album 2, School-Live!, Scum’s Wish) directed the anime at Lerche. Norimitsu Kaihō (School-Live!, Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka) was in charge of the series’ scripts. Keiko Kurosawa (Re:␣Hamatora, Scum’s Wish, Asobi Asobase) designed the characters and served as the main chief animation director. Masaru Yokoyama (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin) and Nobuaki Nobusawa (Steins;Gate 0, Dagashi Kashi) composed the music. nonoc performed the anime’s opening theme song “star*frost,” while Riko Azuna performed the ending song “Glow at the Velocity of Light.”
Shinohara (Sket Dance) launched the manga in May 2016 on Shueisha‘s Shonen Jump+ app. The manga ended in December 2017, and Shueisha published five compiled book volumes for the manga. Viz Media began publishing the chapters online for free in August 2016, and published the fifth and final volume in print in December 2018.
